What browser versions are supported?

As the complexity of figshare grows, the cost of supporting a large number of platforms has an increasing impact on our speed of delivery and quality of support. So that figshare can continue to deliver a great product and excellent support, it is necessary to limit support for older technologies.  

Currently you can enjoy figshare optimally performing on many browsers – our minimum supported browser versions are listed below:

  • Firefox 100‍
  • Chrome 101
  • Opera 86
  • Safari 15
  • Edge 100

Infinite Loop SSO Login Issues

The issue described here is caused by the “Enhanced Tracking Protection” feature in Firefox. To fix this, you can do one of the following:

A: Go to Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection, select Custom and disable Cookies:

B: Add an exception for the login site: while on the page where the loop occurs, click on the shield icon in the address bar and click on the toggle for 

“Enhanced Tracking Protection is OFF for this site”:

Enhanced Tracking Protection is a setting in Firefox that blocks cookies. Figshare requires cookies in order to complete the SSO process.
