This year, Figshare is embarking on a major project to restructure our metadata.
Figshare currently supports the configuration of custom metadata using a Group-based approach. This project will shift to an item type-based approach, creating a more flexible and adaptable structure to better serve our clients and their evolving needs, including:
- An extended set of stock metadata fields, improving integration with downstream systems
- Simplified group configuration
- Improved in-system overview of configuration options
- Enhanced options, such as the ability to reorder metadata fields via the user interface
In this introductory webinar, we will outline the scope of the project, share our motivations and objectives, and discuss opportunities for you to get involved.
