Curation support
At Figshare we want researchers to get the most out of their open data, so all Figshare Plus orders include support from our expert review team to ensure your data is accompanied by high quality metadata. The curated datasets published in Figshare Plus see 7x as many views and 6x as many downloads, on average, compared to uncurated items published on Figshare.com.
The Figshare review team will provide you with personal email support throughout the Figshare Plus workflow, including a thorough review of your dataset metadata and a spot check of your dataset files. They will provide you with specific revision recommendations to enhance the FAIR-ness (findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability) of your data.

How does Figshare Plus work?
- Submit an order request form to publish a dataset supporting a specific publication or project in Figshare Plus
- We’ll review your request, and if approved:
- Create a Figshare Plus account and project space for you
- Send you an email with instructions on accessing and using your account
- Send you an invoice for the one-time data publishing charge
- You will have 12 months to upload your files and prepare your dataset metadata
- The Figshare review team will be available to answer questions about data deposit and best practices for data sharing

- You will submit your data to be published on Figshare Plus
- The Figshare review team will then:
- Check your metadata and description
- Conduct spot checks on a sample of your data files
- Contact you within 3 business days with recommended revisions
- You will complete any recommended revisions and notify the review team when you are finished
- The Figshare review team will publish your dataset(s) and provide you with your dataset(s) DOI(s)

Figshare Plus pricing
Figshare Plus is sold for a one-time data publishing charge, which is based on the volume of the data to be published and includes curation support. To be as transparent as possible, we can tell you that nearly all of the data publishing charge cost goes towards covering our costs for long-term, secure, and redundant cloud-based hosting of your data.
Figshare Plus users should order only the amount of data storage needed to publish data in support of one specific manuscript, publication or research project. If you would like to publish datasets relating to multiple distinct manuscripts, publications or research projects, please place separate Figshare Plus orders for each.
Data storage in Figshare Plus is sold in increments of 250GB for $875 USD, with a separate price for up to 100GB, as shown in the table.

Figshare Plus user story: Sharing large image-file datasets and tracking impact
Dr. Peter Wilf and his collaborators have used Figshare Plus to publish data resulting from their NSF-funded research: around 160 GB of images of living and fossil leaves. Dr. Wilf turned to Figshare Plus to support this larger project after using figshare.com to publish image libraries and even his PhD thesis in the past.
Get started with Figshare Plus for a specific dataset by submitting your details below. Once you submit your order form, we’ll review it and notify you shortly whether or not your order is approved (usually within 3 business days). If your order is approved, account information and payment instructions will be sent to the email address included in your request.
Please note, if you would like a formal quote only and do not intend to purchase Figshare Plus yet, please state this clearly in the “Anything else we should know?” field below.

Pricing is included here. Payment terms are net 30 days. Access to the Figshare Plus Service may not be provided until payment has been received.
Please note that acceptance of your request to purchase Figshare Plus will be subject to a simple review by the Figshare team. You may withdraw your request at any time before you receive written notice that it has been accepted.
The Figshare Plus Service is governed by the Figshare Plus terms of use to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions you may purpose to apply, including as part of any purchase order or otherwise.
